Sher Shah Suri, the founder of the Suri Empire, met his death in 1545 during the siege of the Kalinjar Fort in Bundelkhand. Known for his military genius and administrative reforms, Sher Shah was overseeing the battle when tragedy struck. While directing an attack, a cannon near him exploded accidentally, fatally wounding him. Despite his injuries, he remained conscious for a short time but ultimately succumbed to them.
Sher Shah’s death marked the end of his reign, but his legacy lived on through his reforms, particularly in the fields of administration, road networks, and currency standardization in India.
