No, Sher Shah Suri was not a Mughal emperor. He was the founder of the Sur Empire in India, with its capital in Sasaram in modern-day Bihar .

He defeated the Mughal emperor Humayun in 1540 and established his rule in Delhi as the emperor of northern India.

He introduced the currency of rupee and built many roads, forts and monuments.

He died in 1545 while besieging Kalinjar fort and was succeeded by his son Islam Shah Suri.
